Andy Griffiths

Andy Griffiths the amazing Aussie author left us just fascinated after his talk show at the town hall.

He started off by telling us about how to annoy your teacher, then what to do if you silicon yourself up in a shower.

He cracked us up with laughter when he read a story out of one of his books.
And finished off with telling us how to write our own stories.

The one hour went very quickly, but every second was hilarious.Great show thanks Andy.

Wearable Arts 2009

There was a roar of excitement at the Ngaio Marsh Theatre on Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th of August.
Fendalton Open-air School displayed a magnificent performance, all with humour, costumes, class dances and an additional New Zealand extra at the end.
The performance, called Absolutely Aotearoa was made by the children receiving little help from adults. The children performed 3 performances there were six categories. These were introduced by six dances from each class.
All costumes had to fit in one of the six categories.
The costumes were spectacular a giant buzzy bee appeared in Natural NZ and the sky tower appeared in ManMade NZ.
The dances introduced each category like Room 11's Canterbury dance where tourists ran onto the stage and a try where the performers fell of the stage.
Great fun Family night out.

Wearable Arts 2009

Wow what a way to start the term with cycle safe and our wearable arts performance!.

Time to go, lining up backstage, ready to perform, lights flash, music booms. We move quickly. It was bright, fast, transforming into tourist attractions, spinning into the gondola. We finish and pose, waiting for AMI stadium.

Time to get into my cool costume. The music jingles. I walk onstage posing for the wild clapping crowd, posing once more I rush off feeling really good.

Lining up for the finale we run on singing to the gumboot song with Mr N showing his real talent!.

The wearable arts was really wicked, I had lots of fun.

Andy Griffiths

On the 12Th of August we went down to the James Hay theatre in the town hall to see a live presentation of Andy Griffiths.
He is really funny and entertaining. He showed us how easy it is to make up a kids story. In all of his stories he makes something go wrong, then bad, then really bad to worse, to disaster.
It was a really fast and funny hour. I took alot of great ideas back to school.
Thanks for coming to NZ Andy.
By Matt.
