Salaka

On the fourteen of September 2010 Salaka a band from Ghana (Africa)
came to our school to teach us about African culture.
In Africa they don't have electricity so they use drums
to entertain each other.
In African schools they use drums as school bells and drum to communicate with everyone
They interacted with us and let us use the drums
I got to use a drum called treshe.
my favourite part was playing with the drums.

Cycle Safe

On Monday the 26 we started cycle safe.We all brought our bikes to school and starting at nine o`clock we checked our helmets and talked about what to wear on the road then headed outside.

We were split into groups of 4 to 6 people and each group had an instructor. Before morning tea we had checked our bikes and had had a slow race to see if we were any good at keeping control of our bikes even going really slowly.

After morning tea we assembled at their cycle safe trailer before going to do our road safety tests, all in all we had a very exciting and educational day.Now I`m looking forward to the next session when we get out on the road.

sport round up

The A Fendalton school hockey team is
smashing up.
1 game: 17-0 against Rudolf Steiner to us.
2 game: 16-0 against Marshlands to us.
Next game we are planning to win.
my prediction is 18-0 to us.
The aces basketball team is doing great.
1 game: lost 15-6.
2 game:won 17-15.
3 game:won 19-0.
We are doing awesome.
That's Jacob's sport round up.

basket ball

room 11 started their first basket ball game yesterday. Team New Zealand had victory against Slovakia and Paraguay (my team) lost against Italy. This is how it works every time you score a goal you get one jelly bean, for a win against a team is three jelly beans and a draw is 2 is two jelly beans. next week team Paraguay is going to vs Slovakia and Italy will vs New Zealand.
